How to Register for the CMA Exam
Follow these easy steps to register and begin to fulfill the requirements for your CMA certification:
Meet the Exam Requirements
In addition to passing the CMA exams, you have to meet the education and experience requirements. The full details are available here.
Become an IMA Member
It is not necessary to join the IMA until you are ready to register for the exams. Click to join here!
Pay Entrance and Registration Fees
You have three years from the time you pay your entrance fee to pass both parts. We recommend you wait 6-8 weeks before you pay and register for the first exam. By waiting to pay your entrance fee, you can give yourself more time to complete your exams.
If you wait too late you may not be able to schedule your desired day and time, especially if you are taking the exam towards the end of a testing window.
Click to open the CMA Exam enrollment page on the IMA website.
Receive Your Authorization Number
After you register for the exam, you will receive an authorization number. The authorization number is needed to schedule your appointment with Prometric.
Schedule your Exam
Using your authorization number, schedule your exam date and time with Prometric.
Keep in mind that there is a $50 fee if you want to change your exam appointment. You cannot change your exam to a different exam window.
